Located in Alexandria, VA, ACTE is the largest national education association dedicated to the advancement of education that prepares youth and adults for successful careers. The strength of ACTE is reflected in its diverse membership composed of over 30,000 career and technical educators, administrators, researchers, guidance counselors, and others involved in planning and conducting career and technical education programs at the secondary, postsecondary, and adult levels.
Techniques is an award-winning magazine, published eight times a year, that brings ACTE members news about legislation affecting career and technical education, in-depth features on issues and programs, profiles of educators and other newsmakers, notices of new products, ACTE events and more. PMI staff members have been working with ACTE to produce Techniques since January 2001, writing original articles, editing submitted articles, and working closely with the organization to coordinate the graphic design and production. In February 2002, PMI helped to research and produce a special issue of Techniques that focused on the organization’s history on its 75th anniversary.
